Happy in the summer and sad in the winter? This is normal, because sunlight makes us feel happy and there’s less of it in the winter. But that’s not a good reason to stay at home and go into hibernation, maybe consoling ourselves by filling up on sweets and chocolates! Try to go outside for at least half an hour a day for a walk: light and fresh air, whatever the weather, are good for your mood. Even if the sun is pale and low, its rays act on the brain, stimulating hormone wellbeing centres.
