The hibiscus with its beautiful flower is a first class herbal remedy. Also know as karkadé, it is the basis of a very common beverage in Arab countries and Africa. Thirst-quenching, rich in vitamin C, polyphenols and mucilages, hibiscus offers a veritable health tea, perfect for summer. The many virtues of this flower include its soothing and mildly laxative effect. Recently, research has also revealed its antihypertensive properties.
